About the Role:
As a Counselor III, you will evaluate and assess clients in the Children & Adolescent Behavioral Services (CABS) program. You will provide individual, family, and group therapy; mental health evaluation; treatment planning; case management and case consultation services to youth clients and their families.
Maintain regular contact with an active case load.
24 hour crisis response to the location of the youth in crisis.
Collaborate with the treatment team to develop, review and update client treatment goals and referrals both internally and externally.
Assist clients with obtaining public entitlements, housing and community resources.
Conduct crisis intervention/evaluation/referral to persons who present themselves at the program.
Attend briefings with Court Services, schools, agencies and others, as necessary.
Focus on client empowerment evidence based or adopted best practices in providing treatment, seeking to assist clients to build on strengths in addressing treatment needs.
Provide services in office and community settings.
Work as part of a comprehensive treatment team.
Provides consultation and education to community groups.
Competently work with clients with coexisting disorders including substance abuse.
Meet minimum productivity expectations and documentation standards using electronic medical records.
Education, Qualifications, and Certification:
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in behavioral sciences or related field and three years of experience is required, or
Master’s degree in psychology, social work or related field and one year of experience is required.
Child and Adolescent experience is required.
If a recovering person, must have two years of demonstrated sobriety.
