Position Summary:

$5,000 sign on bonus (1 or more years of experience)* or

$1,500 sign on bonus (less than 1 year of experience)*

To perform quality echocardiographic studies on adult and pediatric patients with a customer satisfaction focus. These

procedures include: M-Mode, 2-D, Color Doppler, Transesphageal (including intra-operatively) and Stress Echo. To

provide to the interpreting physician accurate diagnostic imaging of cardiac anatomy and cardiac performance.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of 3 years of Non-Invasive Cardiology experience in Echocardiography OR Associate’s Degree Demonstrated skills for advanced learning in endocrinology This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups treated, i.e., understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various groups is preferred

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Essential Functions:

Responsible for obtaining and recording accurate, quality echocardiographic scans of the heart. Follows protocols as

set by department standards.

-Performs echocardiographic studies to include evaluating cardiac structures and identifying abnormalities as ordered

by the physician for diagnosing heart ailments.

-Analyzes echocardiographic studies by measuring cardiac chambers, wall thickness and evaluating cardiac valve

function.

-Communicates with the cardiologist on echocardiographic studies discussing any questions in regard to each patient

study as required.

-Correlates patient diagnosis to assist with scanning focus.

-Provides psychologial support to patients by answering questions and explaining the testing process as needed.

-Processes echocardiographic studies in accordance with established departmental standards.

-Able to perform other cardiodiagnostic procedures when needed such as stress tests, ECGs, Holters, etc.

-Acceptance of call coverage assignments with ability to meet response time requirements set by department.
