OneSpace Associate Merchandising Strategist in Swansea, Illinois

Associate Merchandising Strategist
The Associate Merchandising Strategist is responsible for researching, planning, and directing the design and execution of e-commerce visual assets. This role will work closely with graphic designers to ensure work is executed correctly at all stages of the project. The right candidate will possess exemplary communication skills and the ability to support the Creative Director with strategic client engagement.
In this role you will:
Perform regular research to assess the competitive landscape of e-commerce merchandising
Support client conversations that provide insight into brand preferences and positioning
Identify opportunities for best-in-class visuals
Develop strategic design briefs based on category research
Work closely with freelancers and creative resources to ensure work is executed correctly and on time
Enforce brand standards and quality assurance of all client deliverables
Be a subject matter expert on CPG-specific retailer sites supported by OneSpace, particularly those in grocery (Amazon, Walmart, etc.)
Manage the core components of client design projects, including:
Working with the Creative Director and Account Managers to understand client needs
Writing project instructions for freelancers that are clear and concise
Identifying areas for improvement on projects and proposing appropriate solutions
Reviewing and approving all project deliverables to ensure quality standards and project expectations are met
Implement proper screening methods (tests, samples, surveys, etc.) to ensure appropriate freelancer talent
Coach freelancers’ performance throughout the lifecycle of a project via email and forums; including resolving disputes, communicating instruction changes, and providing constructive performance feedback
Absorb freelancer feedback and prioritize its importance; responding and making updates to project to mitigate concerns
Coordinate multiple projects at once, keeping track of all deadlines, deliverables, and associated tasks
Ensure that project issues are dealt with in an efficient manner, informing the project team of any problems that may arise
Requirements
To win in this role you need:
Strong communication and presentation skills; exceptional listening skills
Experience presenting virtually in a client-facing role
Ability to work in close collaboration with freelancer designers
Proof that you can develop original and exciting conceptual ideas and bring visionary ideas to the table
Experience managing multiple and conflicting priorities
Strong problem-solving and project management skills
Desire to learn new skills and develop industry knowledge
Three to five years of Marketing, Design, or Project Management experience
BA/BS or equivalent
