Air National Guard Units THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL OFFICER (TITLE 32) in Springfield, Illinois

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL OFFICER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1503P01 and is part of the IL 183 AOG, National Guard. Responsibilities As a THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL OFFICER (TITLE 32), GS-2101-13, you will monitor and oversee the planning, organization, and supervision of all unit programs required by the Air Force, Major Command, and ANG regulations. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Plan administrative and technical work to be accomplished by assigned personnel. Set priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work. Provide advice, counsel, and instruction to supervisors and subordinate employees on both general policy and administrative matters. Monitor work of subordinates and reviews written reports. Develop detailed plans for accomplishment of training goals and advanced training plans for organization. Develop and recommend an operations budget based on unit requirements and mission. Participate in management decisions impacting the purchase of equipment for organization. Exercise responsibility for the interpretation, coordination, planning, and execution of functional operations. Communicates effectively with senior leadership to standardize established policies. Develop organizational policy for personnel to ensure effective and efficient administrative control of documents and records. Monitor training programs to ensure effective use of training facilities and adherence to standards. Effectively coordinate planning and resources with other units within the organization. Develop detailed plans for the accomplishment of long-term goals. Make decisions on work problems presented by subordinates. Assign work to subordinate units based on priorities. Set division policy and give guidance to subordinates to ensure directives are properly implemented. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code ยง 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians in the Springfield Air National Guard at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport. The SECOND area of consideration will be all members of the Illinois Air National Guard. The THIRD area of consideration will be all those eligible for membership in the Illinois Air National Guard. Military Grades: Officer Only - May not exceed the rank of Lt Col. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures; and experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-13 Level - Must possess specialized experience for the GS-13 Level, which includes 36 months of experience, education, or training; routine and non-routine preflight, in-flight, post-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions; Experience receiving, interpreting, extracting, and disseminating relevant data for mission planning or execution; Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/ problems. SUPERVISORY POSITION SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the required Specialized Experience, must possess experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; and experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel; Experience in the supervision and management of personnel. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education - Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
