Pearson is also on a digital transformation journey, that has seen our day-to-day activities change dramatically. We are now looking for a talented Safeguarding and Well-being Manger to support our established Safeguarding and Wellness programme for both learners and staff. In return, you will be a recognised specialist in ensuring learners are protected from abuse and harassment and their wellbeing promoted. You will lead and in partnership, deliver work across the designated region, with great colleagues and learners involved.

In this role you will support and advise the business in ensuring that all learners are protected from abuse and harassment both in the ‘online and digital’ space and also physical environments. You will contribute to the wider well-being programme for both staff and learners. You will work with product development to ensure that all new services and products are designed to reduce the risk of online harms and promote learner’s wellbeing. You will bring your assurance experience to partner with digital, technology, business, communications, and Diversity and Inclusions teams. Accountability

For their remit, the candidate will:

• Report to the Global Director for Safeguarding and Well-being, (based in London).

• In partnership with relevant stakeholders, deliver and promote Safeguarding and Wellbeing across all relevant parts of the business, with a focus on digital and direct to consumer products and services

• Maintain and update relevant policies and guidance documents for Wellbeing and Safeguarding

• Coordinate and chair the global Safeguarding Leads network

• Respond to serious incidents of abuse or harassment of learners

• Manage and present Safeguarding and Wellbeing metrics

• Oversea the Safeguarding training program

• Prepare dashboard and executive reports as required

• Directly support colleagues in the Organisational Risk and Resilience team, as they will support you

• As a member of the organisational risk and resilience team, take on Duty Officer responsibility on rotation basis, (2 weeks, every 4 months).

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

Skills & Experience

• Good understanding of Wellbeing and Safeguarding issues

• Excellent influencing skills

• 5 years’ experience in delivering Wellbeing/Safeguarding or equivalent programs

• Managed the delivery of Wellbeing/Safeguarding services to learners/staff

• Good understanding of online risks to learners and how these might be mitigated

• Project management experience

• Willingness to travel domestically 25 % of the year and international as required 1-2 time a year.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification that includers Safeguarding or Wellbeing as core components

Desirable

• Experience in working internationally

The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is 60K – 75K. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
