Position Description

Performs services, which may include maintenance and repairing of company vehicles and related equipment. Supervises and assists with coordination of activities within the mechanic shop. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies, procedures and applicable law. May also perform other necessary basic duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs service, repairs and modification to company vehicles and related equipment

  • Assists and manages mechanics and other shop personnel

  • Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations

  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules

  • Recommends measures to improve methods, equipment performance and quality of product

  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department of work crew

  • Analyzes and helps resolve work related problems, or assists workers in solving work problems

  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve department goals

  • Opens and closes shop as required

  • Follows Untied Site Services safety rules: utilizes protective clothing and equipment, reports safety hazards and incidents to manager

  • Attend safety meetings twice a month

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred for this position; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • At least 1-3 years related mechanical experience and/or training

  • Ability to supervise others and give direction

  • Possess leadership and organizational skills

  • Strong knowledge of computer skills which would include Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel or equivalent

  • Valid Drivers License

Additional Requirements

  • Mechanical and electrical repair skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently while being safety conscious

  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a few variables in standardized situations

  • Ability to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
