The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a Senior ISR Systems Network specialist planning, organizing, and directing the activities of AMC ISR Network. Also serves as a supervisor exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to HQ AMC/AIS/INRIN.

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of AMC/ISR Systems Network ensuring that it complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs across the Mobility Air Forces (MAF) Intelligence Enterprise.
  • Serves as Senior ISR Systems Network specialist overseeing all operational aspects of the AMC/ISR SIPRNET domain, a unique secure network independently managed by AMC/A2 to provide tailored, mission- essential ISR IT support to HQ/AMC
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
  • Represents AMC/A2 as a secure network subject-matter expert at a variety of installation and functional area organization forums.

Qualifications

Experience:Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. 1. Examples of creditable experience Include: knowledge of a wide range of IT principles, concepts, methods, advancements, policies, design, development, testing and applications, both hardware and software sufficient to assess the organization's IT business requirements and convince management toward a specific course of action. Knowledge of AMC MAJCOM policy and planning formulation process along with missions, goals, and objectives. Experience with organizational acquisition requirements, budgetary techniques, and financial status sufficient to identify needs and recommend adjustment of IT funding priorities. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of a full range of ISR Network systems (LAN/SAN) design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements; and operational activities, mission processes, systems, and applications for USAF Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and the full intelligence cycle including intelligence preparation of the operational environment including related secure communications systems and other C4I development principles and methods.

  2. Knowledge of the organization's network, Intelligence Community (IC), Unified Commands, and Air Force organizations, with an emphasis on AMC global missions and operations; assigned forces and associated intelligence resources in order to identify and satisfy intelligence personnel intelligence and related secure communications requirements; and DoD security handling and marking directives.

  3. Knowledge of methods, techniques, and processes for the integration and optimization of system components, infrastructure requirements, and test and evaluation methods sufficient to install and operate large and complex network programs and provide technical guidance to others in designing, testing, operating, and maintaining programs pertaining to networks; and operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; and safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

  4. Skill in applying IT network development concepts and techniques to provide computer applications which provide optimal functional support for users, and performing in-depth analysis to resolve issues; and in anticipating changes in secure data processing system utilization patterns

  5. Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements; analyze functional IT network system requirements; translate findings into functional requirements; develop supportable recommendations for enhancement; and apply a wide range of methodologies and tools.
