Job Description Responsible for configuration control during product development phase. Reviews design release documents for completeness, proper approvals, and system updates, to ensure correct configuration modifications. Reviews contracts and drafts configuration plans to encompass all specification requirements. Assists in the maintenance of the database. May also be responsible for contract data submittal and status on smaller projects. Bachelor degre e or equivalent experience in a related field and two to four years configuration experience are required.
Candidate is familiar performing within a performance-based environment where performance is based on pre-determined Service Level Agreement’s (SLA’s) or Acceptable Levels of Performance (ALP’s).
Candidate is required to lead the development, documentation, and tracking of measurements and metrics relevant to the ALP’s.
Monitor and contr ol the configuration of assigned NetOps infrastructure including hardware, software, and inter-connecting transport facilities. Activities include identification, audit, control, and status tracking and reporting.
Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) containing DISA-provided GIG services network and system CM data to support resource allocation, capacity planning, networks/system modeling, and other planning activities. Ensure the CMDB includes all applicable Configuration Items (CIs) and their attributes, and the relationships among the CIs to effectively deliver services to the customers. CMDB data repositories and tools shall be updated and audited as appropriate.
Maintain, in the CMDB, data pertaining to all installed DISA-provided GIG services networking infrastructure identified by network or system (e.g. DRSN), that the Contractor is responsible for maintaining, and network infrastructure identified by the Government as part of the collective DISA-provided GIG services infrastructure but not within the Contractor’s maintenance responsibility. Added capabilities resulting from GSM-ETI or GSM-P&S tasks that are accepted by the Government shall be added to the applicable CMDB as applicable.
Interface with other network management and systems that support operations to collect and verify network/system data in support of the CM functions.
Compile and maintain all CM documentation in support of operational CM functions.
Provide operations-related technical advisory support to the Configuration Control Board (CCB) process.
Provide CM related data and planning support to other network management functions and operational support systems to include reports as required.
Evaluate the existing CMDB system and tools and provide a plan/project to bring the accuracy of the CMDB to a sustainable level of greater than 90 percent.
Required Skills Requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years. Must hold an active Secret or higher DoD security clearance. Must be certified at IAT Level II or higher.
