REVIEW AND ANALYZE NEW DEVELOPMENTS OR ASSIGNED PROJECTS IN MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING SYSTEMS,PROCESSES, OR PROCEDURES; RECOMMEND FOR FACILITY SYSTEMS, PROCESSES, TRAINING, EQUIPMENT NEEDS, ENGINEERING PRODUCT DESIGNS ANDIMPLEMENT AND FOLLOW UP TO ENSURE COMPLETION OF PROJECT. WORKS WITH MULTI-DISCIPLINARY ENGINEERING TEAMS TO SOLVE DIFFICULT TECHNICALISSUES WITH A METHODICAL, DATA-DRIVEN APPROACH. WORKS WITH ENGINEERING TEAM THROUGH DEMONSTRATED TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE ANDIMPLEMENTATION OF ENGINEERING BEST PRACTICES. ENSURES THAT PROGRAM OBJECTIVES ARE DETERMINED AND MET, AND LOGISTICS ARE EFFECTIVELYCOORDINATED. IDENTIFIES, COMMUNICATES, AND MITIGATES PROJECT RISKS. PERFORMS TECHNICAL REVIEWS AND DESIGN REVIEWS OR ACTS AS AN INDEPENDENTREVIEWER. CHAIR INTERNAL DESIGN REVIEW MEETINGS TO LEAD CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION WITHIN MATRIX ORGANIZATION TO CAPTURE AND RESOLVEENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING ISSUES CONCERNING PRODUCT DESIGN. PERFORMS PROTOTYPE BUILD KICK-OFF, ASSESSMENT AND VALIDATION. SUPPORTINTERNAL AND EXTERNAL MANUFACTURING PLANTS DURING LAUNCH ACTIVITIES. DETERMINE TOLERANCE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPONENTS AND STACK-UPTOLERANCE REQUIREMENTS OF ASSEMBLIES. DURING QUOTING, CREATE DESIGN CONCEPTS TO WIN NEW BUSINESS AWARD AND PRESENT DESIGN CONCEPTS TOEXTERNAL CUSTOMERS AT TECH REVIEW. RESPONSIBLE FOR PRODUCT DESIGN DEVELOPMENT BY PROVIDING DESIGN DIRECTION TO CAD DESIGNERS, THENCOORDINATE ACTIVITIES FOR CAD, CAE & MANUFACTURING FOR DESIGN DEVELOPMENT, DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURING (DFM), DESIGNS FOR ASSEMBLY (DFA) &DESIGN FOR SERVICE (DFS). RESPONSIBLE FOR DFMEA DEVELOPMENT AND APPROVAL. PERFORMS DVP&R DEVELOPMENT AND APPROVAL. PERFORMS ACTIVITIESPERTAINING TO TESTING VALIDATION INCLUDING SOURCING A TESTING FACILITY, COORDINATING TESTING SAMPLE PREPARATION AND RECEPTION, AND TESTINGVALIDATION & REPORTING. FOR COMPLEX ENGINEERING ISSUES, WORKS ON ACTIVITIES THAT SPAN MULTIPLE DISCIPLINES; SUCH AS QUALITY ISSUES. DEVELOPSAND IMPLEMENTS NEW OR MODIFIED MANUFACTURING METHODS IN ASSIGNED AREA TO REDUCE PRODUCTION COSTS AND IMPROVE EFFICIENCY. INVESTIGATES ANDANALYZES PRODUCTION METHODS, PROCESSES AND OPERATIONS TO DETERMINE MANUFACTURING MODIFICATIONS THAT WILL INCREASE PRODUCTION EFFICIENCYAND REDUCE COSTS. REVIEWS THE DESIGN OF PRODUCT COMPONENTS AND PARTS AND RECOMMEND DESIGN CHANGES THAT WILL FACILITATE PRODUCTMANUFACTURING, REDUCE COSTS, EXPLOIT THE ADVANTAGES OF NEW MATERIALS, ETC. CONDUCTS STUDIES TO PREPARE AND RECOMMEND NEW AND REVISEDOPERATING PROCEDURES TO MAINTAIN CONTROL, IMPROVE OPERATIONS, AND FACILITATE PROCESSING. COMPILES AND ANALYZES SIGNIFICANT DATA RELATIVE TOTHE SOLUTION OF MANUFACTURING PROBLEMS AND/OR COST REDUCTION STUDIES, I.E., VENDOR CAPABILITIES AND FABRICATION COSTS TO DETERMINE THEECONOMICS AND FEASIBILITY OF MAKE OR BUY DECISIONS; THE CORRELATION OF PRODUCT DESIGN REQUIREMENTS WITH MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS ANDCAPABILITIES; THE ECONOMICS OF MAINTAINING INVENTORY LEVELS BASED ON MACHINING COST PER VOLUME.
