The HRIS Support Analyst provides a minimum of tier-two level support within the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) structure. The primary focus of this position is the support and maintenance of the HRIS systems. HRIS represents the databases, software and computer systems that the company uses to maintain their human resources: timecards, payroll, time off, employee records, benefits, and more. This individual serves as a technical point of contact for assigned functional areas and works directly with and assists the systems teams with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing, analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities, and system configuration. The HRIS Support Analyst also supports HRIS upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned. Duties involve independent judgment and discretion on issues that may be sensitive or confidential in nature.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Production Support – Level II+ Provide a minimum of tier-two support for HRIS including, but not limited to, researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results, or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
Troubleshoot and correct intermediate level SQL code used in reporting, interfaces, stored procedures, and jobs on an as needed basis and while following the HRIS Change Management process.
There is an expectation that this person will be on-call on a rotating basis with the other HRIS Support Team members.
Assist in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades or patches.
Collaborate with systems teams to coordinate application of upgrade or fix.
Ensure security of HR and Payroll information through established security protocols.
Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation.
Serve as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll).
Use project management skills in managing projects.
Focus on initiatives to automate and streamline system analysis, data integration, and reporting capabilities.
Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools (ie: Microsoft SQL, Ultimate Software, Kronos, PeopleFluent, etc.).
Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs.
Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
Training and Documentation
Act as Point of Contact for assigned support/system areas and cross-train others on the support team.
Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation.
Train system users on new processes/functionality.
Train new HRIS team members.
Maintain awareness of current trends in HRIS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies.
Examine trends in information systems training, materials and techniques.
Continuously increase both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge through classes, reading, CBTs, or other mechanisms.
Participate in user group meetings/conferences.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, human resources, or other related field and 2 years of experience in HRIS or IT applications support, helpdesk, or similar experience; OR High School Diploma and 4 years of HRIS or IT applications support, helpdesk, or similar experience.
Internal applicants must have a minimum of two years of Reyes Holdings Family of Business HRIS, IT, or related experience.
Proficient in HRIS systems such as Kronos, Ultimate Software, and PeopleFluent.
Proficient in SQL, including writing, reading, and updating advanced queries.
Proficient in advanced report writing tools such as Cognos, SSRS, or similar systems.
Effective decision making skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
Strong customer service experience with a sense of urgency in getting things done.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects.
Effective critical thinking with the ability to review numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings.
Ability to handle sensitive information/data while maintaining high levels of confidentiality.
Highly focused attention to detail; vigilant in data analysis to arrive at correct conclusions.
Ability to multi-task and to be flexible in order to adapt to an ever changing and evolving environment.
Excellent communication skills with ability to present findings, or translate the data into an understandable document; must be able to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.
This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of HR and Payroll processes and terminology.
Proficiency in HRIS systems Kronos, UltiPro, and/or PeopleFluent.
Three to five years of HRIS or specialist experience.
Two to four years of project management experience.
Systems implementation experience a plus.
