ISR is seeking a Sr. Manager Test Equipment & Validation to join our dynamic team in Rockford, IL

The candidate will be responsible for the leadership, training, coaching, and oversight of the design, development and testing of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic test equipment. Including: the evaluation of test & equipment requirements; mechanical & electrical design/design reviews; test equipment automation & software design; test procedures; and test lab/environment safety. Particular experience with testing and test hardware supporting the commercial, military, and aerospace environments is highly preferred.

  1. Acquire and develop test equipment design engineering talent through recruiting, hiring, and management processes

  2. Ensure compliance to electrical, mechanical, and laboratory design processes, and provide guidance/direction for the improvement of those processes during development projects/programs

  3. Review, maintain, and optimize test equipment standard work instructions and maps, ensuring both process completeness and process speed

  4. Provide occasional expert test equipment design guidance and support to development and production programs

  5. Provide electrical/mechanical test equipment design support for internal and customer funded R&D projects from concept to test

  6. Support Business Development studies and proposals through test equipment and test design expertise

Qualification:

  • Supervisory responsibility for 14-20 test equipment individual contributors

  • Strong Leadership

  • Maintain and manage test equipment group resource needs based on current and anticipated program labor demands

  • Prepare and monitor test equipment design and operations process metrics and manage process improvements based on those metrics and program execution feedback

  • Lead small project teams or multiple project teams in the improvement of test equipment operations and design processes

  • Drive any and all failure/mishap investigations to positive conclusion through the use of ACE tools and process enhancement

Due to government contracts US Citizen required.

The incumbent will have proven supervisory skills including the promotion of ethical behavior in accordance with UTC’s “Code of Ethics.” Additionally, it is expected that candidates have a history of being self-motivated and possessing the ability to set individual as well as team priorities and to accomplish established goals within a matrixed team environment.

Education:

BA/BS degree Electrical, Mechanical or related Technical field w/10+ years’ experience

MA/MS degree w/7+ years’ experience
