The ECS Customer Focal Manager position will support the day-to-day strategy processes to secure on time delivery and expedited material in support of specific ECS programs. We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work in a challenging environment. The candidate should able be able to provide a high level of customer focus while meeting business objectives. The candidate should have a demonstrated history of identifying and improving business processes.

This role will be located in Rockford, IL. This position can be the optimal launching platform for someone who is seeking upward career growth and demonstrate the ability to positively impact the performance of a business unit. This person will be a subject matter expert for supporting the Rockford Power & Controls business unit as an individual contributor.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to act as a representative of the supply chain team to report out delivery status to the operations team and senior level management.

  • Responsible to work with program office on reporting status to external customers.

  • Responsible for day to day supplier communications and setting priorities through cross-functional interaction with operations, planning and program management.

  • Manage supplier accounts to ensure on-time delivery and zero defect plans to drive results within the supplier accounts.

  • Working with operations to understand their build plans and rates for at least the next 90 days

  • Drive continuous improvements through streamlining processes by using ACE tool

  • Manages execution of processes, standards, and operational plans in support of Procurement goals, including RFPs, negotiations, cost accountability, and / or program execution.

  • Approves and qualifies vendors to fulfill account needs.

  • Takes action on the changes identified in price trends and manufacturing processes to ensure successful procurement process.

  • Responds to critical client issues and problems.

  • Monitors suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.

  • Authorizes purchase orders, negotiates prices and approves payments to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly.

  • Reviews request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.

  • Analyzes contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to help determine need for changes.

  • Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity.

  • Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.

  • Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost.

  • May perform delivery assurance responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite

  • Ability to clearly communicate and occasionally present to senior or executive leadership

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP

  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities and drive projects to closure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to read and understand engineering blueprints

  • Negotiation experience

  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills required.

  • Understanding of the UTC value chain, as well as manufacturing resource planning and supply chain elements such as order fulfillment, customer and supplier relationship management, demand and inventory management, etc.

  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced environment

Travel Requirement: 10%
