Air National Guard Units LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (Title 32) in Peoria, Illinois

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (Title 32), Position Description Number D1638P02 and is part of the IL 182 AW, National Guard. Responsibilities As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (Title 32), GS-0346-11, you will implement logistics policy programs and procedures, utilizing automated/non-automated systems for the accurate control of logistical planning in support of unit tasked contingency operations around the world. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Ensure all systems interface within Integrated Deployment System. Design logistics packages to meet Operation Plans tasking and coordinate with tasked unit to ensure compliance and accuracy of systems. Produce products for unit deployment exercises or operations. Provide continuous guidance and instruction to unit personnel. Formulate and consolidate logistical annexes for guidance based on regulations, manuals, instructions, and directives issued by higher headquarters. Plan and develop deployment training for the unit, in addition to conducting deployment training exercises. Ensure unit meets all pre-execution and command and control requirements for deployments. Resolve deployment-oriented problems. Identify required deployment/redeployment support with the unit staff and host base for the transportation of equipment and personnel. Ensure all unit personnel and equipment are properly identified and prepared for deployment. Review resource/logistic plans, programs, and deployment activities with the commander to ensure authorized mobility equipment is available or on order. Develop load plans and analyze transportation requirement for the unit. Analyze and identify taskings for logistical shortfalls and problems. Participate in site surveys to ascertain, identify, and plan airlift and logistical support requirement needs in support of unit contingency operations and taskings. Report problems and discrepancies to the commander in a timely manner. Monitor the status of the logistical readiness of the unit and determine deviations in the total logistical posture. Recommend necessary actions to preclude or mitigate effects of support deficiencies. Provide technical logistics plans support at staff meetings conducted by the unit commander. Monitor and evaluate support agreements between the unit and the supplying agency. Define and publish local guidance for deployment procedures. Ensure that unit specific requirements are included in the host base's Integrated Deployment Plan and ensure host base capabilities to meet unit requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code ยง 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians in the Peoria Air National Guard at Wayne A. Downing International Airport. The SECOND area of consideration will be all members of the Illinois Air National Guard. The THIRD area of consideration will be all those eligible for membership in the Illinois Air National Guard. Military Grades: Enlisted/Officer - Not to exceed the rank of O-5. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field; and experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level - Must possess specialized experience for the GS-11 Level, which includes at least 36 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations; experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan; experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan; experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions; and experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
