The Benefits Team provides leave of absence and benefits services to McDonald's Corporate Staff and Company owned restaurant employees as well as former employees. The team is focused on delivering 100% customer satisfaction in a timely, high quality and accurate manner while ensuring adherence to internal controls, Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance and government regulations. This is a great opportunity for an individual to gain broad perspective of McDonald’s and Global Business Services (GBS) People team by leading the Benefits Team. You will be responsible for supporting the administration of all McDonald’s benefit plans, including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, pharmacy, healthcare spending plans, leaves of absence (LOA) programs.

Job Description

As Supervisor, Benefits you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, internal and external to McDonald’s, as you identify critical process improvements and drive teams for solutions. The lead will have a working knowledge and experience in LOA and benefit programs and can exercise independent judgment in the performance of their job duties. Responsibilities will include eligibility analysis, comprehensive process documentation and exception analysis to ensure regulatory and program compliance in a highly complex and variable environment.

The environment can be fast paced and requires someone who is flexible, biased for action, detail oriented, and thrives on solving problems while challenging the status quo. Key customers and stakeholders include, Employees, Human Resources, Legal, Payroll, IT and external partners.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing leadership and manage team performance of 5 direct reports to exceed customer satisfaction, support in meeting department objectives and deliver quality results

  • Maintaining a strong understanding of medical plans, legal regulations and emerging practices under health care reform and leave of absence programs

  • Setting team priorities to provide the highest levels of customer satisfaction, optimal efficiencies, and employee commitment

  • Collaborating effectively across teams to define goals and commitment to timelines and deliverables to ensure business objectives are achieved

  • Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to interface with all levels of the organization

  • Operating successfully in a team environment, collaborating with internal and external resources, and managing through conflict with a positive, flexible attitude

  • Reviewing and resolving escalated customer complaints

  • Proactively identify and implement Continuous Improvement opportunities, reducing cost/time savings

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and HR administration experience (preferred) OR 3+ years’ full life cycle Benefits/LOA/HR administration experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Affordable Care Act (ACA) experience preferred

  • Ability to influence decisions at all levels within the organization and achieve results with others in a fast- paced environment

  • Leaves of Absence (LOA) experience preferred

  • Possess a high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness and ability to work well in an ambiguous environment

  • Strong appreciation for customer service and collaboration

  • Working understanding of continuous improvement as a discipline

  • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture and vendor and project management

  • Exceptional detail orientation with a high degree of accuracy

  • Drive results, gathering the voice of the customer, and balancing business needs against technical constraints

  • People management experience
