The Manager, Truck Brokerage Cost is responsible for the cost analysis for Hub Group's Truck Brokerage division. This position manages a team of Cost Analysts. The role requires personal leadership, initiative, cross-functional teamwork, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and strong business acumen. This position reports to the Senior Director, Truck Brokerage Pricing.Essential Job Functions

+ Manage a team of Cost Analysts and provide direction, coaching, recognition, etc. to achieve department and corporate strategy and goals.


+ Bid tool preparation for customer bids and projects.


+ Bid and transactional cost management.


+ Effectively communicate and work closely with carrier managers and procurement to understand the accurate costs for the bid given lane attributes, historical data, & market intelligence.


+ Identify and implement opportunities to further improve margin by ensuring that the right carriers are aligned to operate the lane.


+ Maintain Hub cost systems and databases.


+ Assist new business pricing in bid tool creation and development.


+ Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time.


+ Undergraduate degree in Finance, Operations Research, Statistics, Math, or related analytical discipline.


+ 3+ years of business experience (transportation industry preferred) with 1-2 years managing staff.


+ Very strong technical skills (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with proven ability to synthesize multiple data sources to develop insights and strategy recommendations.


+ Strong analytical skills and business/financial acumen. Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.


+ Must possess leadership skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, customers and vendors, both verbal and written.


+ Must be able to work with internal and external groups to achieve personal and company goals.


+ Demonstrated success in employee development and management.


+ Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment.
