CVS Health is currently looking for a dynamic individual to join our team helping people on their path to better health!!!

The CPO department is responsible for coordinating and conducting the external clinical review of CVS Caremark, Aetna, and Omnicare Clinical Programs through the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee process in accordance to regulatory requirements. CPO coordinates these reviews with external consultant physicians who are specialists in their fields and prepares meeting minutes with literature supported recommendations to ensure that programs are clinically appropriate and align with standards of the regulatory agencies (CMS Medicare Part D, URAC/NCQA, State Health Exchange, etc.). CPO works closely with other departments throughout CVS Caremark and communicates clinical program recommendations to the various Clinical Development teams who build and maintain the Clinical Programs.

The Medical Affairs Advisor is responsible for applying expertise to support the CPO pharmacists with preparation of documents, minutes, and post consult activities for external consults and various committee activities. The CPO Advisor works independently preparing documents, transcribing recordings, and preparing meeting minutes for multiple CPO pharmacists by the established deadline. Once completed, the CPO Advisor will work with the assigned pharmacist for review and sign-off. The CPO Advisor is also responsible for maintaining and supervising all state-regulatory requirements for clinical program reviews, aiding in internal and external audits, and maintaining internal department tools. Additionally, the CPO Advisor will provide advanced support to the CPO Pharmacists as needed and for special projects under the Senior Director of Clinical Program Oversight and Vice President of Clinical Affairs.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to work independently on complex issues, exhibit excellent attention to detail, communication and organization skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office software. You will also need to work effectively with other internal partners at CVS Health.

Required Qualifications

5 years healthcare experience

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Office

PBM, managed care, or pharmacy experience

Certified Pharmacy Technician License (CPhT)


Bachelor's Degree
