General Information & Responsibilities
GRADE: 105
REPORTS TO: Facilities Superintendent
TYPE OF SUPERVISION GIVEN TO OTHERS:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Console Monitor assumes shift responsibilities for the Johnson Control Metasys System at the Quad-Cities Campus and audits in the Console to ensure maximum service to all areas of the campus.
Description of Duties
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Responsible for the Johnson Control Metasys system, including CPU-401 Basic Head-end, Annunciator Command Terminal and printer. Maintains knowledge and familiarity with primary processing, communications/transmission, field processing, systems manual, and DSP-401 operator's manual.
Responsible for reviewing trouble calls through shift and responding to same, plus logging and reviewing of hourly readings.
Extract information from the system or command a point within the system to perform its logical function.
Responsible for attending an operator's school to learn programming of the system and other pertinent data which will be necessary to operate the Johnson Control Metasys, and be able to interpolate data into meaningful assignments for the system.
Responsible for keeping a close visual watch on the above mentioned areas, and the equipment therein is to be observed on each shift and repairs made as needed.
Responsible for keeping log books up-to-date and current with all messages noted as instructed.
Responsible for working first, second, or third shift as needed with shift differential as provided.
Responsible for following all federal, state, local, and departmental safety regulations.
Attends required trainings as needed.
DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:
Responsible for providing back-up, night-time and weekend telephone answering service to the College; disseminates messages as appropriate.
Responsible for keeping control area and the boiler room, including equipment, pipe fittings, air shafts, return air housings, electrical room, etc., clean.
Performs repairs of equipment as the need arises.
Performs painting duties as required.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or recognized equivalent required.
Mechanical background, aptitude, or interest required.
Must be in good physical health.
Must be completely dependable and past work record must indicate reliability and dependability.
Must be able to react calmly in case of an emergency.
Basic computer skills with ability to learn control system required.

Supplemental Information
Primary work hours will include weekends and holidays with possible varying hours. 20 - 27 hours per week.
BHC provides 6 credit hours of tuition waiver to part-time UAW employees each semester. The college also provides paid holidays, paid sick leave and paid personal time.
