This job was posted by : For more information, please see: POSITION OVERVIEWThe Quality Technician is responsible for performing daily quality activities in the plant which includes but not limited to process audit, GMP audits, various in process or laboratory testing to ensure every ingredient and finished good meet product specifications. The Quality Technician is responsible for identifying quality issues, reporting them to the appropriate persons, initiating the corrective action process and document.PRIMARY FUNCTIONSMonitors, inspects and tests the products in process or in the lab. Ensures the products meet all specifications. Records all information and reports any discrepancies.Monitors and checks the calibration of measuring equipment and the operation of metal detectors to ensure proper operation. Reports any problems immediately.Performs formula audits and process audits, documents audit results.Monitors adherence all quality programs including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices. Reports any problems to the appropriate Lead/Supervisor.Assist in the investigation related to customer complaintsPromotes and facilitates safe work practices at all times. Takes appropriate actions to ensure the safety of all Dawn team members.Performs environmental swabbing/Testing as per the schedulePerform other duties as assigned by managementOther duties as assigned by plant leadershipCreate a safe work environment by embracing diversity and fostering an inclusive environment where all team members are treated equally and with respectMust be able to work in an environment where various allergens, including, but not limited to nuts, are received as shipments, mixed in ingredients, used as toppings, or baked into product. This will fluctuate based on business need.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/LEVELS OF COMPETENCEQualifications(QA Tech I)High School Diploma/VOC2 years of experience and/or equivalent education in supporting plants and assessing the effectiveness of plant quality and food safety programsKnowledge of basic lab equipment such as water activity, viscometers, etcBasic math, record keeping and computer skillsQualifications(QA Tech II)High School Diploma/VOC4 years of experience in supporting plants and assessing the effectiveness of plant quality and food safety programsKnowledge of basic lab equipment such as water activity, viscometers, etcBasic math and computer skillsSome knowledge of chemistry and microbiologyWORK ENVIRONMENTTime is spent primarily in both the plant environment and in the office environment.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.PHYSICAL DEMANDSPosition requires constant and continuous support of production and other departments with time spent both in an office environment and a plant/storage environment; temperatures range.
