The Wholesale Client Relationship/Liaison - Subject Matter Expert (SME) position is responsible for providing the knowledge and expertise related to Closings for business department projects. Functions as a liaison between department staff, development teams, and corporate training to ensure content and communication for projects is complete and accurate. Serves as proxy for department manager for project requests and prioritization. Provides business knowledge and analytical skills to assist in solving problems, improving processes, and refining requirements. (NOTE: Previous wholesale mortgage / TPO lending experience rEQUIRED. This role is 100% remote, open to qualified candidates located anywhere in the U.S.)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Partners with department managers and staff to prepare enhancement requests, identifying root causes of issues and/or potential areas of improvement or efficiency gains

  • Analyzes and documents current and future optimized business process models that accurately reflect user workflows

  • Provides a holistic approach and process flow orientation to analysis

  • Partners with Solutions Analyst to define, develop, test, and implement short-term and long-term projects that improve department workflow

  • Leads coordination for training and communication for Encompass Changes and Releases

  • Works with Policy and Procedures department to update and ensure compliance

  • Maintains partnership relationship with development teams to meet business needs and demands

  • Collaborates to refine requirements or mitigate issues discovered in project testing

  • Manages pipeline of projects and/or enhancements that align with the department’s strategic goals

  • Communicates with assigned resources to ensure on-time completion of planned tasks

  • Communicates with counterparts and business partners to ensure continuing alignment with project objectives

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of a variety of loan programs: Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA, etc.

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of developing specific and realistic goals and plans to prioritize, organize, track, and accomplish work

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of current business acumen

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage lending processes, procedures, and regulations

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Encompass LOS

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage best practices

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of customer service and intrapersonal best practices

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and work experience

  • 3+ years of experience in the mortgage industry in a direct line of business role (wholesale mortgage lending preferred)

  • Experience with agile project management methodology a plus

  • Demonstrated experience with Encompass LOS

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing creative solutions to meet needs of business line

  • Demonstrated experience thinking critically to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternate solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

  • Demonstrated experience discussing complex business and technology issues with technical and non-technical business users and customers

  • Demonstrated experience reporting, analyzing, interpreting, and researching information

  • Demonstrated experience with analytical research, critical thinking, problem solving, and making solid business decisions

  • Demonstrated experience communicating with all levels of management

  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing relationships with internal and external partners

  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced and changing environment

  • Demonstrated experience with attention to detail, time management, written and oral communication, multi-tasking, and working in a team atmosphere adhering to tight deadlines

  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office software products
