Camping World L&D Administrative Assistant in Lincolnshire, Illinois

L&D Administrative Assistant

Rarely – and I mean RARELY – do we use the word “corporate”. It’s stuffy, buttoned-up and not at all reflective of who we are. Those of us in Accounting, Inventory, Payroll, Benefits, Legal, Marketing, IT and HR are shared services and support the entire employee population for Camping World, Gander Outdoors, Good Sam and every other brand within our family. For those familiar with our departments, the work is self-explanatory, but where we work and how we work are definitely not. If you’re still in love with the work you do, just not where you do it, join us in supporting the great outdoors!

Do you find yourself cringing at the thought of heading to work, isolating in an office, and putting on a mask for another 8-hour day at work? Well, we have the job for you! This is a job you can do from the comfort of your own home. Think you’ll miss the daily interaction with others? Not to worry, we have a solution for that. Zoom! You will get to meet often with team members and specialists in the field (virtually, of course – no masks necessary). Just lock yourself in the basement away from your kids or dogs, put on the new work-from-home uniform (business-wear on top, and sweats on bottom), and get to work.

Are you thinking this is too good to be true? Will it last? The best part of this position is that we intend for this to be a work-from-home position. We know the right candidate can work from just about anywhere for this position.

We are looking for someone who enjoys telling people where to go and what to do when they get there. Okay, maybe not in the sense that first popped into your mind. To be clear, we are looking for someone who can support our Learning & Development efforts by answering questions, troubleshooting, and communicating best practices for success in our new Learning Management System (LMS).

Worried you won’t know enough about the new LMS to help? Don’t worry, we know people. We can connect you to the right people so you can learn the ins and outs of this system. We just need you to be comfortable learning new things and crafting meaningful responses to help people along their learning journey. Speaking of learning new things, we are also looking for someone who can help manage the process of loading new courses, images, and more into the system.

Another great trick up your sleeve is if you like numbers. And by numbers, we are really looking for someone who can speak the language of “Excel.” This person will be responsible for taking the unreadable lines of data in excel and converting it into beautiful dashboards. Sounds boring, but to an “Excel Geek”, it can be incredibly rewarding.

This job is great for a person looking to get an introduction to the world of Instructional Design. There will be many opportunities to learn along the way and dive into the day-to-day efforts of Instructional Design. You will be joining an exciting team who finds new ways daily to laugh as we work.

If this clever job “ad” doesn’t convince you to join our team. Perhaps the traditional list of job responsibilities and qualifications will do the trick:

  • Work with the Instructional Design Manager and Team to identify and resolve technical issues related to accessing the LMS and course content.

  • Respond to requests for help regarding the following user logins, permissions, and access issues.

  • Load existing content into the LMS from a variety of resources, stylize the landing page for each course and ensure the settings are in line with the needs of the content.

  • Under the direction of the Instructional Design Manager, manage course assignments and track the progress of each course.

  • Pull progress reports from the LMS, extract key measurements, and load into our data visualization tools.

  • Distribute reports to designated stakeholders.

  • Aide in other aspects of the Instructional Design Team’s day-to-day functionality.

Required qualifications:

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Demonstrated Customer Service Experience is a must.

  • The ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Strong organization skills.

  • Proven ability to learn new and cutting-edge software.

Full-time associates are offered a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401k and more! Part-time associates are offered access to dental & vision coverage! For more information please visit:
