Acadia Healthcare Nurse Manager Hourly in Lemont, Illinois

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides administrative supervision to milieu staff and collaborates daily lodge operational tasks with the Charge Nurse.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ensures compliance with Timberline Knolls’ clinical and operating procedures and policies.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of eating disorders, chemical dependency and other DSM-IV-TR Diagnoses, and demonstrates competency in providing and implementing resident care.

  • Establishes collaborative working relationships with the multidisciplinary clinical team, including psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, behavioral health specialists, dietitian, and expressive therapists, and promotes teamwork.

  • Has knowledge of and ensures compliance with regulatory standards, including DCFS for adolescent lodge, Joint Commission, Mental Health Code and DHS Department of Alcohol and Substance Abuse.

  • Provides support to Charge Nurses when needed in monitoring, and/or implementing safe, quality health care in the following areas according to policy and procedure:

  • Accurately transcribes and implements physician orders and medication orders.

  • Communicates effectively with the external pharmacy in obtaining medication to meet resident needs in a timely fashion.

  • Follows medication administration, storage and documentation procedures.

  • Accurately administers prescribed resident care/medical treatments.

  • Accurately transcribes laboratory orders and collects specimens.

  • Communicates effectively in giving and receiving information from the external lab.

  • Adheres to all required nursing documentation according to policies and procedures, including Nursing Assessments, RN Clinical Notes, Medication Teaching, Detoxification Protocols, Treatment Plans, etc.

QUALIFICATION/SKILLS

  • Registered nurse with a current Illinois license.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of eating disorders, chemical dependency and other DSM-IV-TR Diagnoses and demonstrates competency in providing and implementing resident care.

  • Ability to actively participate in an interdisciplinary team.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

  • Current certification in health care provider CPR.

  • Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)

  • Must have visual, hearing, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform the essential functions defined above.

  • Work is performed in designated clinical and program settings.

  • Duties may involve contact with resident who may be threatening, aggressive and/or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULING

  • Work is performed on AM, PM and weekends.

  • Work is performed in the residential setting and activities or facilities in the community.

  • Duties involve contact with residents that may be threatening, aggressive, suicidal, and/or under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

  • Available to work additional hours when necessary.

  • Requires flexibility in scheduling and travel including occasional overnight travel.
