Pfizer Portfolio Director, Surgical Brands in Lake Forest, Illinois

Role Summary

In the Pfizer US Hospital Business, we are committed to delivering breakthroughs that change both standard of care for patients as well as standard of practice for our hospital and alternative care site stakeholders.

The Director, Surgical Brands Portfolio will be responsible for developing and executing US go-to-market strategies and tactical plans for Pfizer's growing Surgical Brands portfolio. He/she will be responsible for developing all marketing collateral, tools, and resources to drive revenue /margin growth for the overall business. The Director will be responsible for the development of the Surgical Brands long-range plan, the annual operating plan, as well as the monthly latest estimates for the business. A key focus of this role will be to work directly with sales leadership to support the surgical healthcare professionals. This leader must have excellent communication skills as they will interface with sales, legal, program management, regulatory, commercial contracting, national accounts, finance, and operations.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead US HCP Campaign development, including Patient journey / Positioning / Key messaging

  • P&L responsibility; accountable for net sales and operating expenditures; lead development and execution of the operating plan including management of portfolio performance

  • Support the development of KOLs and advocacy strategy, including the management of relevant medical education such as congresses and symposia

  • Lead proactive interactions amongst Field Sales, other cross functional partners, and strategic partners to ensure cooperation, shared responsibility in GTM activities, and ultimately business performance; sustain customer and field sales engagement - with motivation, focus and clarity

  • Proactively identify relevant brand, customer, and competitive insights and ensure they are appropriately integrated into brand plans; prioritize execution of brand strategies to drive the maximum value

  • Coordinate with National Accounts to drive brand value with organized customers

  • Constantly look for ways to innovate in our communication approach, leveraging internal resources to deliver best-in-class messages to a broad range of customers (including use of all available channels).

  • Approach all tasks with integrity and operate in compliance with applicable laws and company policies at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, science or related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred

  • 10 - 12 years pharmaceutical/med-surg marketing experience preferred, and strong knowledge of the marketplace is essential

  • Robust prior brand marketing experience at a Global/Regional and country level.

  • Ability to synthesize complex information and distill critical customer driven insights to drive brand performance.

  • Adept at balancing short- and long-term priorities and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Strong strategic skill sets including effectiveness in identifying and addressing major strategic challenges (e.g., new competition, shifting market environment) and the ability to navigate complex and rapid-changing environments

  • Possesses strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead and cultivate teams for higher performance.

  • Strong expertise at strategic and tactical thinking, with demonstrated ability to translate strategy and analysis to a tactical, executable level.

  • Partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders to cultivate a customer centric environment.

  • Effective at leading complex work streams, in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to challenge status quo, make quick decisions, act with a sense of urgency and focus/prioritize efforts across the team and the organization.
