Our location in Lake Forest, Illinois currently has an opportunity for a Data Architect .

The Data Architect will be responsible for the development of business reporting and performance tracking tools. This includes the management of table architecture and database capabilities. This includes expansion of existing tool functionality to enable more efficient Global Supply Chain business performance.

As a member of the information delivery team, they will be responsible for small to medium sized projects and will oversee and/or perform all aspects of project design – technical architecture, development design/standards and testing design/coverage. This position will provide inputs into the process of enterprise strategy development.

Actively participates in strategic planning and development of architectural roadmaps, including presenting to business divisions and management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Partners with business and implementation teams on implementation and enhancement projects.

  • Responsible for defining dashboards and reports with the development team and create front-end working models using Microsoft Power BI or other Data Visualization tools.

  • Creates application architecture and facilitates development design. Ensures architecture and design will meet business’ functional requirements.

  • This position will model data from multiple sources to create front end dashboards and reporting visualizations

  • Works with the business users to evaluate challenges and work with the development team to arrive at the best-fit technology solution components.

  • Manages the design inputs from multiple locations resulting in the organizational collection and reporting of the Key Performance Indicators for the Global Supply Chain.

  • Creates software design specifications addressing business requirements by utilizing the appropriate specifications, methodologies, standards and templates.

  • Participates in strategic planning and development of architectural roadmaps, including presenting to business divisions and management.

  • Understands underlying technologies adequately to discuss options with other technical team members and supervisors.

  • Coordinates the implementation of solutions with technical resources and members of the process and business teams.

  • Drives resolution of implementation and technical issues related to assigned projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor's degree In Computer Science, Business, Mathematics or any other applied sciences.

  • Data warehousing projects and knowledge of industry leading best practices.

  • 5+ years of data warehouse architecture experience.

  • Experience documenting functional and technical requirements, technical design, test cases and training material.

Preferred

  • Hands-on Business Intelligence Developer with experience with Power BI.

  • Hands-on Data Visualization skills

  • Experience with databases and database tools

  • Experience with data modeling, transformation, data analysis and visualization techniques

  • Experience with process management and process scripting (MS Automate or related tools)

  • Experience with SharePoint development

  • Ability to independently analyze and formulate actionable data solutions

  • Proven analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities

  • Understands data lifecycle management

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Strong business and technical aptitude with an attitude to solve complex problems.

  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
