Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

Shift: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm

Pay: $16.28/hr

Kelly Science & Clinical is interviewing and hiring immediately for a Lab Login Specialist! The Lab Login Specialist is responsible for delivery of samples to the lab. This role will triage received lab samples by verifying accuracy of all information, assembles data packs, and assigns bar code labels to samples and associated data packs.



  • Carefully receive all incoming boxes and separate samples for testing from supplies

  • Separate out damaged or discrepant samples

  • Assign a priority number to the box according to tests requested on the submission form (SSF) per the current Log In priority list for the specific facility

Log In samples

  • Compare the sample to verify accurate information on the SSF, including sample ID, count, test code with description of test, storage condition, STAT and GLP etc.

  • Complete the Log In checklist and use appropriate stamps when applicable

  • Remove samples from cardboard box and repackage appropriately to enter a lab environment

  • Attach printed bar code labels or handwrite WO# or lab # on all sample containers and paperwork

  • Identify discrepancies and complete appropriate forms

  • Deliver samples and datapacks to designated location/s

  • Maintain storage condition requirements throughout the process

Order Entry

  • Understand tracking systems and procedures to enter, search, and correct data

  • Create and maintain orders within the sample tracking system

  • Know and understand pricing and enter correctly

  • Edit orders for changes in testing or pricing as needed

  • Correctly enter and manage new customer information

  • Notify accounting of credit hold orders and maintain custody until resolved


  • Take and maintain ownership of all discrepant studies

  • Communicate with customers, sales and lab personnel in regard to discrepancy issues

  • Enter all discrepancy data in the sample tracking system

  • Follow up on a regular basis until discrepancy is resolved

  • Maintain and update discrepancy tracking system

Warehouse & Shipping

  • Develop and maintain appropriate systems for cGMP/CGLP compliance

  • Maintain quality inventory management controls

  • Manage all warehouse receiving, shipping, quarantine and distribution functions

  • Add shipping charges to orders where appropriate and finalize shipping charges for final invoicing

  • Properly package samples after testing if requested for return

  • Organize return of samples from multiple sections into one shipment if possible

  • Maintain proper storage of samples awaiting return

  • Package carefully to prevent damage

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by taking pride in presentation and including signed Thank you card

  • Maintain sample or supply traceability throughout order and shipping


  • Initiate, investigate and collaborate on Quality Events associated with Login, Order entry shipping and warehouse procedures.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc.).

  • Know and follow company policies and procedures.

  • Complete required training on time.

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of warehouse receiving and data entry experience

  • AS/AA preferred with at least one year of warehouse receiving and data entry experience

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to follow written instructions

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Legible handwriting

  • Customer service skills

  • Organization and collaboration skills

  • Must be able to multi-task and be self-motivated

  • Time management- must be able to respond to voicemails, emails and other communications in a timely manner.

  • Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office, email and internet usage.

  • Ability to work independently­­­

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary sitting/standing position at a desk while using a computer monitor and keyboard, computer mouse and telephone 70% of the day and move/traverse, bend and twist 30% of the day. Computer and telephone use may be for extended periods with clients and internal staff.

  • This position may require occasional lifting of 0lbs - 45lbs.
