Description:Perform duties to provide administrative support to guidance counselors and guidance department.

Job Summary:1. Great visitors, students, staff, answer incoming telephone calls, provide appropriate information or take message and refer to appropriate staff. Assist students in scheduling meetings with guidance counselor.2. Plan, organize, maintain and update a variety of files, records and databases.3. Use the Student Information System as needed. Enroll and schedule new students in student computer system. Maintain up-to-date student data regarding household and emergency information. Input changes to student schedules as requested – enrollments, transfers or withdrawals. Maintain enrollment counts and provide reports as needed. Update grade changes from teaching staff as needed.4. Complete required Federal and State reports and forward to Administration for review and signature.5. Provide coordination and assistance for annual events as assigned. These events could include graduation; college visits, recruiting and scholarship application; parent/teacher conferences; class registration and summer school registration and standardized testing.6. Provide general clerical assistance: word processing, report generation, maintain schedule, copying, filing, distribute mail, faxing, or data entry.7. Use personal computer and general office equipment. Demonstrate proficiency using the technology and computer-based programs provided by the District. Use these programs to effectively manage and organize files, communication, records and databases.Perform other duties as assigned.Working Conditions:Office within a high school

Rate of pay:$14.75/hour

Selection Procedure:Qualified candidates will be contacted by the appropriate building administrator. After an initial interview with a building administrator, final candidates wil be referred to the Human Resources Department to be scheduled for and successfully complete clerical and technical assessment tests in typing, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel to be eligible for further consideration for this position.
