This hourly (non-exempt) mid-level position within the branch is responsible for presenting our products and services to both prospective and current customers while maintaining a high level of customer service.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build relationships with new and existing customers by identifying needs and educating them about the features and benefits of First American Bank personal banking products.
Responsible for referring Mortgage, taking Home Equity and other retail loan applications as well as closing loans.
Participate in servicing, growing and retaining the branch customer portfolio.
Partner with other areas of the bank to promote: Business Banking, Wealth Management, Treasury Management and Merchant services.
Participate in outbound calling and other sales related activities.
May participate in local community events to increase branch awareness.
Meet or exceed assigned sales goals.
Perform all daily personal banking tasks, including but not limited to: opening accounts including business account, IRAs, closing accounts; account maintenance.
Assist and educate new and existing customers on available servicing technology which includes online banking and mobile technology.
Participate in phone queues to handle customer issues which will include performing research, reviewing transactions, and redirecting customers to appropriate resources when necessary.
Provide teller assistance and balance teller drawer daily.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
This includes policies of both the teller and personal banking departments.
Resolve customer issues with tact and diplomacy.
May be responsible for opening and closing the branch as needed.
High School degree or equivalent required.
College degree in business or related field a plus.
This position requires the individual to take loan applications and close loans.
This position may require the employee to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) in order to comply with the federal Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act) and Regulation Z.
Registration may consist of submission of personal information such as home address, social security number, gender, date and place of birth, employment history, among other things.
Registration also requires employees to submit fingerprints and submit to a criminal background check.
Renewal of the registration requirements may be required periodically throughout the term of the employment.
Minimum one year of personal banking or customer service experience required.
Proven track record of sales experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and confidence when speaking with internal and external customers.
Familiarity with word processing programs preferred. Knowledge of spreadsheets and bank systems a plus.
Travel within the bank's footprint, to assist other branches or attend meetings, training and seminars as scheduled.
Branch locations are open for business 6 days each week, Monday through Saturday. Scheduling may vary.
Must be available to work all hours of bank operation.
