Our innovative technologies and proven expertise help manufacturers in the Americas to be more efficient, reliable and profitable. FANUC America is currently searching for aService/Installation Engineerto support programming and installation and service of robots and robotic systems for our Midwest Engineering team. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Setup, programming, troubleshooting and repairing robots and peripheral devices.

  • Support and supervise robot system demonstrations and feasibility studies.

  • Create custom robot software for Robotic systems designed by the Midwest office per engineering process specifications.

  • Provide mechanical and electrical integration of Robotic systems for troubleshooting and validation at the Midwest office.

  • Support the FANUC America Midwest demonstration area.

  • Support field installations as needed through buyoff, customer acceptance, production support, and field service.

  • Provide prompt, professional and courteous solutions to external and internal customer problems. Be able to troubleshoot problems, secure any needed parts.

  • Provide technical support and training to various parties of FRMW including Sales, Applications, and Execution.

  • Handle emergency service calls.

  • Supervise and provide training to Associate Engineers and Technicians

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Electronics, or other automation-related area preferred, or equivalent technical education and experience.

  • Minimum three years experience working in a related environment.

  • Must be conversant in at least one of the following areas: Industrial robot programming, PLC/HMI setup and programming, industrial vision systems, computer languages (Pascal, C, or Karel), pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial controls.

  • Ability to analyze and solve service and robot installation problems.

  • Basic wiring and hand tool skills

  • Must be able to perform intricate repairs on mechanical and electrical items.

  • Ability to work in a highly autonomous environment

  • Must be able to travel for extended periods.
