Signode is looking for a Staff Internal Auditor that will be based at our Glenview headquarters.

The right individual will join a team that is currently tasked with ensuring that the organization is SOX compliant. This individual will also work on audits and investigations. The ideal candidate will be an individual who wants to develop and refine audit processes and procedures, not just follow existing protocols. This is an opportunity to gain wide exposure to the overall company, as this role will interface and partner heavily with business-based management and finance teams around the globe.

Over time, the Staff Internal Auditor is anticipated to be a candidate for a position at a business unit or within the corporate group. Future business leaders of Signode will emerge from Internal Audit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out the vision and mission of Internal Audit in order to implement a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate risk

  • Assessing compliance with SOX requirements, providing recommendations for improvement and remediation

  • Conducting financial, operational, and/or compliance audits

  • Identifying and clearly defining audit issues and root causes

  • Recommending improved internal controls and business processes

  • Supporting SIG’s culture of trust and integrity, which includes a zero tolerance control environment, where fraud or noncompliance is unacceptable

  • Active participation in audit planning, execution, and wrap-up processes

  • Collaborating with team members to improve Audit’s processes and procedures

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • 2 to 3 years of experience.

  • Experience in manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Must have experience conducting SOX reviews, walkthroughs, and testing.

  • Looking for individuals with a collaborative, multi-cultural approach;

  • Great communications skills.

  • able to interface with people both within the corporate offices, as well as those embedded in the business.

  • Should have a commitment to continuous improvement, and want to work in a dynamic, changing environment that strives to exceed expectations.

  • Will require ability to travel up to 30% (domestic and internationally).
