Aerotek Quality Assurance Technician in ELGIN, Illinois

Description:

The Quality Control Technician position will assist in ensuring food safety and quality standards are met.

Ensure compliance of quality requirements in relation to certifications, customer, state and federal standards.

Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices, programs, and policies.

Assist with GMP audits to ensure an effective transition from sanitation to production.

Conduct line audits per product specifications and food safety checks.

Perform routine checks for leakers, gas levels- CO2 and oxygen, temperature, weights, product moisture, pH and product appearance.

Assist with swabbing procedures and other duties required to support the site's Environmental Monitoring Program.

Provide feedback to managers and supervisors when quality related discrepancies, violations or other issues that occur and need to be resolved.

Support Quality Management during facility visits, audits and inspections.

Retrieve documentation and records during audit process.

Perform titrations and prep chemicals for sanitation as needed.

Will cross train in the quality lab.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in the sciences- biology, chemistry, or related.

Must be very organized and demonstrate good communication skills.

Bilingual Spanish is a huge plus for the candidate, but not required for the job.

Must be flexible to overtime as needed.
