This job was posted by : For more information, please see: Illinois Central College is seeking a qualified person to perform high-level technical processes associated with the development, use and maintenance of new and existing computer application software and to analyze and design computer programs and applications in our PeopleSoft ERP environment. Basic Duties:Design, develop and test necessary bridges, interfaces, conversions and reports; design and analyze data flowcharts and diagrams and develop sequential program steps; resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, extent of automatic programming in coding use and modification and inclusion of internal checks and controls; provide analysis/design support for Business Analysts; consult with user departments relative to systems design and utilization; maintain and update systems and programs; develop and maintain program documentation; and perform related duties as required. Necessary Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent education and experience. Three to five years of related experience. Knowledge of: SQL, principles and practices of applications analysis and application programming; relational databases; developmental programming tools; client/server applications; flowchart design; systems design; program documentation requirements. Ability to: provide technical leadership in application design and analysis; operate software dealing with databases; operate Windows operating systems; analyze client/server applications; create flowcharts for program analysis; use complex software development tools; document programs and related work in a user-friendly fashion; development work in an ERP class software application; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and maintain effective working relationships with other people. Previous experience using PeopleSoft Application Software. Need to have strong Analytical, creative, communication, and problem solving skills.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONSSome computer work experience in an educational institution; experience in the use of developmental programming tools. Previous experience using PeopleSoft Application Designer. Development/Support Experience in Higher Education software ERP systems.
