Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE:

This position manages a team of internal resources with responsibility for mining technology marketing & safety technology commercial support where monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required as well as training, developing and mentoring. The position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates. Job responsibilities include:

• Manage the marketing strategy and execution for all mining technology solutions (e.g. Fleet, Terrain, Detect, Health, Command and MineStar Edge)

• Provide marketing materials and sales support globally to region teams and approve required variance to win mining safety technology sales.

• Provide sales and application support to region and area managers and teams for key accounts and business opportunities.

• Assist global accounts to develop customer specific technology strategies that best leverage Cat mining safety technology products and deliver maximum value to these customers.

• Provide input on NPI Marketing swim lane deliverables

• Collect voice of customer (VOC) and voice of business (VOB), and distribution to Mining Technology Product Groups.

• Execute safety technology commercial strategies for each key mining segment and providing pre-sales support to region and area teams where required and to Global Accounts where required by assisting with pre-sales activities such as customer and dealer meetings at customer corporate offices and/or sites and customer visits to Caterpillar facilities.

• Request for Information/Request for Quote (RFI/RFQ) support for region and area teams.

• Include RFI/RFQ gaps into commercial NPI feedback and requirements management process

Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from

time to time.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing along with six to eight years of progressively responsible job-related marketing and commercial experience

Top candidates will also have:

• Sound commercial judgement

• Thorough knowledge of mining technology products, product applications, marketing communications or merchandising programs

• Understanding of mechanized claims processing, service data systems and/or dealer operations may be required

• Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.

• Strong customer focus and ability to influence
