Job Description:

Caterpillar’s Manufacturing Engineer position works both independently and as part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in assembly manufacturing. In addition, Manufacturing Engineers function as a specialist and subject matter expert for technical planning throughout a manufacturing facility.

Job Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Designs, developsandimplementstheintegrationof manufacturingsystemsincluding factory control software,simulationandsystemsapplication.

  • Works with operations team onroutingsandprocessingofcomponents.

  • DevelopsStandard Work for Paint Touch Up, improving Paint beforeassemblyprocess, and componentassemblieson Machines.

  • Providesdirectionandguidanceto othermanufacturingpersonnel in a continuous effort toimprovemanufacturingproductivity.

  • Works with supplierqualityteams(both internal and external)in thedevelopmentofprocesses, whichensurethe most efficient and cost effectivesystemsoroperationsto producequalityproducts.

  • Determinesadaptability of existing corporateapplicationsandpreparefeasibility studies fornewapplications.Coordinatesvariousexistingsystemsandoperationswithnewsystemsandoperationstoensurecompatibility and assists others tomodifysystemsaccordingly toimplementthetotalpackage.

  • Provideleadershipin theimplementationofnewtechnologies within thefactory.

  • Developsindividualpresentations on all integration projects. Performsliaison duties with various functional areas topromotesmoothtransition of new and revised corporate and plant systems and processes.

  • Adhereto established standards,policiesand practicesrelatingto People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost in performing assigned duties.

  • Thispositionis responsible for theimplementationof process improvements onsafety , Paint before assemblyand throughput with balancing of the assembly line with variousconfigurations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university

  • 3+ years of Assembly manufacturing experience or Overall 5+ experience in Manufacturing/Operations and Supply Chain functions

Top candidates will also have:

  • Experience with MACH1/SAP

  • Experience with Paint Specifications and practical application

  • Experience with assembly shop floor support

  • Excellent oral and written communication
