Description

The Director of Marketing and Communications for Growth is responsible for facilitating the long-term strategic vision for Aramark's K-12 Education brand while promoting its unique position in the marketplace. This position coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels and sponsors the development, launch, scaling and ongoing management of a portfolio of client and field-facing materials that support retention, base business growth and client satisfaction objectives within the K-12 Education division.

Position Overview

The role requires collaboration with the division's senior leadership, the growth team consisting of both retention and new business sales, the growth enablement team, brand and field marketing, operations, and various cross-functional team members.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Planning: Oversees the preparation and implementation of the division's strategic plan for brand positioning to include a comprehensive communications platform that will enhance the Aramark K-12 Education image and position within the marketplace. Support promotion of best practices, communication of key issues within the marketplace, regional trends/opportunities, field communications schedule, tactics, and timing.

  • Public Relations: Provide ongoing funnel of information about successes and innovative client programs to internal publications and collaborate with corporate resources in public relations through proactive feature article placements, press releases and other efforts to generate awareness and understanding about K-12 Education programs and initiatives. Lead opportunity identification through management of scalable social & digital programs to generate optimal customer experiences and engagement as well as foster base business growth.

  • Insights: Responsible for understanding relevant primary and secondary consumer insights pertaining to the current industry trends. Utilize consumer insights to generate awareness, respect and trust of the current client base while attracting new prospects through continued differentiation of our brand in the marketplace.

  • Client Partnership : Manage thought leadership initiatives through integrated marketing activities which support client retention, brand awareness and base business growth for our existing portfolio.

  • Best Practices: Capture, evaluate, and develop scalable and repeatable concepts for operations that highlight field innovation and best practices to further differentiate our brand position.

  • Tools and Resources: Maintain a portfolio of effective marketing and retention materials while ensuring messaging is consistent and supportive of current marketing plans, solicit feedback from the growth team as well as operations and continually improve upon the toolkit to differentiate Aramark from the competition.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following professional experience and skills:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible communications and/or marketing experience, with a demonstrated record of success and effective performance.

  • Results-oriented individual with strong communication skills: oral, written, presentation, and influencing, plus the ability to communicate with a wide range of people

  • Experience managing social & digital media including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, blogs, podcast, and website platforms

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment within a heavily matrixed organization.

  • Strong organizational, project, and time management skills

  • K-12 , foodservice, and/or nutrition services marketing experience desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

It is expected the candidate will possess a proficiency in the following: interpersonal skills, influence management, brand management, project management, promotional program development, written communication, digital/social media marketing, presentation skills, and computer skills.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A master's degree/MBA is strongly preferred.
