Continuous Improvements Analyst – Decatur Controlling Team – Decatur, IL

This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

The Decatur Controlling team is seeking a Continuous Improvements Analyst for a role in the Decatur office. The successful candidate for this position will play a vital role in providing continuous improvements support for process changes initiatives within the Decatur Controlling group, including optimization of existing processes, and ensure standardized, consistent, compliant, effective and efficient processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Continuous Improvements and/or outside experience

  • Strong and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Power Point, and Visio.

  • Six Sigma Certified Green Belt or above is preferred.

  • Knowledge of principles, practices, techniques and methodologies associated with lean management models.

  • Strong analytical abilities, initiative, and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to fully document an end-to-end process (process flow mapping), identify waste and areas of improvement, and execute/implement changes in order to standardize, simplify, and make the process more efficient.

  • Skilled in active learning by understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Ability to develop performance metrics / KPIs and dashboards.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public (finance, commercial and operations management)

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience in project management activities and leading complex projects is preferred.

  • Commitment to be a positive & professional team member as well as the ability to function independently

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with finance colleagues to understand current state finance processes, identify inefficiencies, implement feasible solutions, and help define future state processes and management metrics.

  • Oversee and develop plans for full implementation of process improvement initiatives including project goals, scope, deliverables, resources, budget and timing, and status report.

  • Drafts a variety of communication materials that promote the successes and lessons learned of the process improvement initiatives.

  • Lead efforts to transfer knowledge across the Center of Excellence (COE) teams with respect to accounting processes to further drive standardization and use of best practice.
