Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities
Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, certify company compliance
Other duties as assigned
Collect, calculate, and enter relevant data to maintain payroll records
Put together summaries of employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to calculate all payroll liabilities
Organize and compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages in order to draft relevant reports
Offer proper review and verification of source documents
Payroll record maintenance by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
Handle payroll discrepancies through information collection and analysis
Take charge of all questions and requests related to payroll
Deliver assistance to payroll with internal and external audits
Report changes where necessary after maintaining payroll operations via company policies and procedures
Prepare for department heads relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
Protect confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence Requirements - 2+ years of strong payroll experience
Prior experience working with collections/accounting software
Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Understanding of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Outstanding data entry skills
Expertise in federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
Understanding of internal controls
Certified Payroll Professional will be given preference
General familiarity with Payroll Tax
Practical knowledge of Process Bi-weekly Payroll
Good understanding of Garnishments
Wide ranging experience with Process Payroll
Proven knowledge of garnishments payroll
Multistate Payroll experience preferred
Earlier work involving payroll taxes
Microsoft Excel experience required
ADP Workforce Now experience desired
Well-founded grasp of payroll for over 500 employees
Quality experience with Process Biweekly Payroll
Strong familiarity with Multi-state Payroll
