Zekelman Industries Storeroom Supervisor in Chicago, Illinois
Wheatland Tube Chicago, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Storeroom Supervisor for our facility located in Chicago, IL. The Storeroom Supervisor reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. Responsible for managing the storeroom inventory and storeroom personnel.
Maintains, receives, disburses and requisitions storeroom materials and updates inventory records using various transactions within SAP including but not limited to: Goods Receipts, MRP records, Inventory Cycle Counts, Vendor Info Records, and Goods Movement.
Receives, disburses and requisitions, stores material and maintains inventory/records.
Assists with purchases for stores inventory and is responsible for establishing storeroom procedures and computerization through SAP
Responsible for writing purchase requisitions for storeroom material and supplies when inventory quantities are reduced below requirements, maintains necessary catalogs and parts lists as references when ordering materials. Obtains information from operating and maintenance personnel regarding new spare and/or replacement parts to be ordered.
Handle and record movements of incoming & outgoing storeroom materials
Responsible for follow-up with suppliers to ensure deliveries, mails or tags material as required and stores same
Supervises storeroom personnel and implements procedures and protocol in accordance with Zekelman purchasing policy and related SAP assigned roles.
Establish good relationships with various vendors, assisting in delivery/receipt of goods.
Manages routine inventory cycle counts schedules for storeroom personnel using ABC designation for identifying critical spares. Assists in physical annual inventories.
Assists in the resolution of any inventory issues or questions.
Assigns work duties based on schedule requirements and follow up on progress of completion.
Trains and monitors storeroom personnel. Facilitates team meetings when necessary to ensure all storeroom personnel update with any new information or training.
Responsible for any special projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Lock Out and all other safety requirements.
Follow protocol in accordance to local, state and federal requirements such as OSHA, EEO, and DOT.
High School Diploma or GED
Previous Wheatland Tube Storeroom experience
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and production management systems
Solid organizational skills; attention to detail a must
Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
Must be able to lift 60lbs.
Stand for 10-12 hours
Manufacturing/ Industrial work environment
