Microsoft Corporation Solution Assessment Specialist in Chicago, Illinois

The leading assessment and data insights team is looking for a Solution Assessment Specialist to cover the US SMC Corporate Accounts segment driving customers’ digital transformation and right licensing at scale.

The primary focus of the Solution Assessment Specialist is to support our customers’ digital transformation through a data-driven engagement that presents economic based insights into the value of Azure and M365 while providing direction for datacenter and modern workplace optimization and cloud migration opportunities.

Responsibilities

The Solution Assessment Specialist will work with the US SMC-C sales teams to help support customers’ cloud migration initiatives and provide pointed consulting on the value of Microsoft cloud platforms and outline datacenter and modern workplace migration opportunities and scenarios. The primary delivery approach for Solution Assessment is with and through Microsoft’s capable partner community. The Solution Assessment Specialist provides enablement and support to our partners to assist Microsoft with the Solution Assessment defined consulting effort and ensuring a valued experience for our customers that provides meaningful insights and direction for optimization and cloud migration initiatives.

The Solution Assessment Specialist responsibilities include account planning with the US SMC-C sales teams, planning with Microsoft’s partners, working with customers to align approach and strategy for Solution Assessment, and engagement execution and support.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in solution-based selling to senior business decision makersUndergraduate or Master’s/ MBA degree preferred

  • Self-starter

  • Strong, proven track record of consistently achieving/exceeding quota using a consultative/solution selling approach, focused on solving enterprise customer problems with Line of Business solutions

  • Executive maturity and business acumen

  • Experience engaging C-level executives

  • Knowledgeable and experience in enterprise and solution selling

  • Knowledge of Microsoft’s products & sales models

  • Knowledge of Microsoft's contract and licensing structures

  • Technical sales background with strong business acumen and deep understanding of Microsoft field sales motion.

  • Technical knowledge of PaaS, SaaS and IaaS

  • Excellent sales management from pipeline management as well as the ability to improve the sales process

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans and to drive influence in a matrixed environment with partners

  • Strong planning and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical skills to (1) identify market opportunities, (2) quantify results and (3) execute on COE plans.

  • Data-driven, independent thinker who can operate within a broad framework.

  • Experience in problem solving leveraging internal and partner resources where and when needed to do what’s right for the customer and for the organization.

  • Experience in working with and through others to influence and achieve results.

  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, planning and leadership competencies

  • Passionate about partners and customers.

  • Professional Training and Certification preferred: Sales and partner management, complex sales training (e.g., Challenger Sales, Miller Hyman, Spin, Michael Bosworth, Holden, etc.), and sales methodologies (equivalent to MSP).

  • Ability to travel (25%)
