During the 12-18 month program (dependent on the track), participants will have the opportunity to perform meaningful assignments in various rotations while gaining a broader perspective, along with exposure to leadership of the different departments in their chosen career track. Rotations are selected based on the business need as well as the RDP member's career interests, goals, and skills.RDP Support and DevelopmentThe program provides participants with dedicated ongoing support and professional development opportunities that include:?Two program mentors?Monthly speaker series?Learning & Development sessions?Career Development opportunities?Comprehensive orientation?Social Events?Access to RDP Alumni NetworkThe Rotational Development Program offers five tracks:?Corporate Finance Track ?Asset Management Track?Technology Track ?Asset Services of America Track?Credit Track Asset Services of America TrackThe Asset Services of America track includes three 6-month rotations.Members of the Asset Services of America track rotate through core functions in support of our growing ASA business. The ASA business provides client servicing and middle/back office support to our investment manager client base. Northern Trust services a range of investment managers including, but not limited to, mutual funds, unregistered funds, private equity, and hedge funds. Core rotations through operations groups offer an opportunity to learn the main products and services Northern Trust ASA provides. Track members can then specialize in an operations role or enter an ancillary function of ASA such as project management or client servicing roles.Examples of potential responsibilities (note: work varies by rotation and business need):?Strike the NAV (net asset value) of a fund on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.?Allocate profit and loss to partnership funds on a daily and monthly basis.?Compile financial statements for a variety of mutual and nonregistered funds.?Receive letters of direction from clients to move cash wires in and out of funds.?Establish a project plan and work with managers to gather data for the processes related to the best practices for client visits, metrics reporting, and internal audits.?Review, plan, and implement improved procedures for FX Cash Management processes.?Aggregate data to use at a management level to achieve an overarching view among different clients.?Plan and manage the creation of a new service that assists clients in complying with IRS FATCA requirements.Placement Opportunities:?Client Servicing/Relationship Management Associate?Operations Analyst?Project ManagerRequirements:?Business-related major (Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Management) preferred?Ability to work in fast-paced environment?Exceptional interpersonal skills; including working in a team environment and interacting with clientsRecommended Attributes:?Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines?Strong project management skills?Interest in financial markets - one primarily works with nvestment managers in a middle/back office setting.?Ability to adapt to new systems (reporting systems, trade settlement systems, fund accounting systems, etc.)Members of Northern Trust's Rotational Development Program possess the following:A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university?A cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least a 3.0?Previous internships or related work experience?Strong oral and written communication skills?Analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills?Adaptability and ability to learn quickly in high-pressure environments?Leadership, teamwork and client servicing ability?A well-rounded character, appreciating diversity and valuing inclusion?Knowledge and interest in Northern Trust and the financial services industry?Some technical acumen (preferred) After successfully completing the program, qualified Associates will apply for a role that best leverages the experiences they've gained throughout their rotations and meets their career interests.
