Job Summary :
The Payroll Analyst plays a central role in preparing and processing the client payroll. This role is responsible for compiling and recording employee time and payroll data. Computes employee time worked, wages / deductions, and prepares paychecks. The position is responsible for processing various types of accounts transactions including critical vendor invoices. This position is also responsible for the preparation of monthly account reconciliations and journal entries, reviewing exception reports and documenting control logs. The level of work is considered intermediate and staff must be able to work under general supervision. This position has no direct reports. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Conducts moderate to complex analysis to verify, process, and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions Use spreadsheets to analyze, record, and enter data in payroll system (i.e., wages, deductions, time worked, etc.) Review time sheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other records • Respond to payroll inquiries from Bank stakeholders (i.e., employees, management, etc.) Plan, direct, and coordinate payroll activities and resources to ensure payroll deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and with optimum quality; provides direction, prioritization, and conflict resolution in managing stakeholders to meet payroll deliverables Prepares various types of routine and non-routine transactions, including vendor payments and credits, Same-Day Settlement entries with other Banks, journal entries, employee and receivables, and difference account write-offs Develops internal and external communications (i.e., emails, memos, presentations, etc.) for stakeholder groups, including use of innovative technologies to reach multiple audiences throughout the Bank Supports Bank management and department contacts on payroll time and labor processes by developing reference guides and providing training Plans, supports and coordinates small to medium size projects
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree 1 to 3 years of direct work experience Knowledge and Skills Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills Strong analytical skills and ability to think independently Demonstrated ability to learn new technical applications Adept at handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion and working to ensure confidentiality is respected throughout the organization Proficiency in MS Office Suite
