About the Position: This position is located at: The United States Military Entrance Processing Command, Chicago Military Entrance Processing Station, Chicago, IL. Description of the Working Environment: Work is performed in an clinical setting.
Maintain applicant's medical records during the examination process and personally identifiable information (PII).
Prepare packages and ship specimens to testing laboratory.
Quality check chain of custody documents ensuring no information is missing or in error.
Prepare Drug and Alcohol Test (DAT) control logs and obtain control log signatures.
Manage medical consultations to include verifying doctor's orders.
Track and maintain medical assessment data.
Conduct medical orientation to enter data.
Perform phlebotomy procedures to obtain blood samples for HIV and other laboratory tests.
Review unique medical forms for proper format, coding, and completion.
Assist applicants on completion of a variety of forms required for physical examination.
Instruct applicants on test procedures.
In process applicants to verify their identity using previously captured biometrics (digital fingerprints and photographs).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing medical records; screening medical records; performing phlebotomy procedures; taking biometric data; and administering various tests such as Breath Alcohol Test, Drug Alcohol Test, Audiometric tests, color vision tests, near/far vision tests, or electrocardiograms. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Education Substitution: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience above in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualifications requirements using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
