This position provides the opportunity to work on exciting communications programs for leading consumer brands, develop key relationships with and serve as a partner to our clients, build relationships across our global team and other sectors/practices and manage the strategic outreach to the media, third-party organizations and consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically craft earned media strategies and drive story idea development, working closely with clients and media to shape and manage communications.

  • Provide client counsel on matters related to media strategy grounded in experience and media relationships.

  • Continually develop and maintain relationships with key consumer and lifestyle media and deliver banner media coverage in support of client teams.

  • Develop and edit high-quality written materials, including pitches, background materials, recommendations and planning documents, and executive communications.

  • Assist with new business by contributing to proposals and opportunities.

  • Counsel junior-level staff and provide professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7-10 yearsof results-driven, media-focused experience, ideally with consumer brands and businesses. Agency experience is a must and in-house experience is a plus.

  • Advanced knowledge of top-tier consumer lifestyle and business media, and well-developed-skills in building and maintaining traditional, digital and broadcast media relationships. A demonstrated hands-on media approach is required.

  • Superior writing skills and ability to develop and edit high-quality materials like communications plans, fact sheets, media materials, bylined articles, trend analysis summaries, executive correspondence, etc.

  • Ability to engage with and counsel senior level decision-makers across our clients’ business, and deliver connective insights to assist clients in driving alignment and execution of cross-company initiatives. Candidate should have experience building relationships and working with diverse stakeholders effectively.

  • A strong understanding of digital communications and social media.

  • Experience managing and coordinating projects with multiple work streams, including managing junior team members, both directly and indirectly.

  • Energetic, self-starter and resourceful problem solver – gets things moving and keeps them on track; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
