This is a role for someone who craves a global challenge balanced by the desire to be accountable for delivering against our Kraft Heinz business model. It is both a strategic and a tactical position. Those that do not want to get their hands dirty or build out a function against a blank slate without buying pre-packaged solutions should not apply.

Role/Title:

The Manager, Corporate & Derivative Accounting position will play a critical role in managing the accounting and reporting for financial instruments, ASC 830 Foreign Currency related items, and long-term debt, from recording journal entries to providing required disclosures for SEC filings. This position will interact with Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, and external auditors. This position will perform technical accounting and SEC research in order to provide management with timely information for decision-making and analysis. The position will also assist in other significant projects, which vary based on the Company’s business transactions and priorities (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, new policies, new types of transactions, training initiatives, benchmarking, etc.).

Key Components of the role:

  • Accounting and reporting: managing the accounting activity related to the company’s financial instruments (foreign exchange contracts, cross currency swap contracts, interest rate swap contracts, commodity derivative contracts, etc.), long-term debt, commercial paper, and capital leases

  • Oversee senior analyst who is in charge of day to day accounting for debt and commodity derivatives

  • Preparing required disclosures to support SEC filings

  • Planning and analysis

  • Monitoring US GAAP and SEC developments and evaluating the impacts of new accounting and reporting rules

  • Researching technical accounting matters, including strategic transaction planning with Global Treasury and Tax teams

  • Working with external auditors

  • Maintaining area related SOX controls

  • Assisting with projects relating to M&A activity, accounting and reporting as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations

  • Minimum of four years of experience; public accounting with emphasis in SEC engagements preferred

  • Ability to effectively lead, manage and prioritize multiple projects, while effectively operating in a fast-paced, complex global organization with shifting schedules and priorities

  • Detail-oriented

  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion Financial Management a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills

  • Ability to work efficiently and achieve high quality results

  • Excellent analytical, teamwork, customer service and leadership skills
