Position Highlights :
The Manager, Clinical Data Systems supports data management and reporting requirements and is responsible for database management, development of data reporting tools, programming, analysis, and reporting functions. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Plans, designs, develops, and implements systems for research data collection.
Integrates new systems with existing databases to ensure continuity, integrity, and reliability.
Manages accountability and stewardship of complex healthcare data sources.
Provides guidance to team to achieve goals and objectives and acts as an advisor to resolve issues.
Designs hardware of software solutions and plans timelines for execution.
Reviews and approves programmers and analysts' recommendations for the design and implementation of data reporting systems.
Oversees staff in the development of data reporting systems for new protocols.
Establishes and maintains research data reporting systems.
Develops and manages interface design, ETL procedures, and technical specifications for external utilization of clinical data.
Provides technical expertise for the design and implementation of new research data reporting systems for internal and external reporting.
Ensures new and existing data reporting systems meet federal, state, and institutional compliance.
Interacts with stakeholders across the organization to monitor quality control and resolve data source validity issues.
Manages system and database administration including support, backup, and recovery.
Establishes goals and objectives for data collection and reporting.
Plans timelines for software installations and upgrades.
Required Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or another related area.
At least five years of relevant experience required managing an information technology organization.
Knowledge of technical architecture, systems use, maintenance, planning and integration strategies.
Experience in the management of ongoing technology infrastructure acquisition and expansion, to include the identification and integration of suitable emerging technologies
Strong verbal, oral, and written communication skills.
Quantitative and analytical skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to understand the process involved to adapt, integrate, and modify existing programs or vendor-supplied products for use within the technical environment
Strong technical database systems management abilities
Preferred Position Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
