Job Description

Position Overview

The Asset Manager is responsible for a wide range of activities all directed toward the same goal: safely maximizing the profitability of Invenergy’s portfolio of operating clean energy assets.

Responsibilities

  • P&L responsibility for a portfolio of operating assets (wind, solar, or storage projects)

  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve the operational and commercial performance of operating assets

  • Negotiate contracts to lower operating costs, increase revenue, and mitigate risk

  • Ensure compliance with and enforce rights under project contracts including financing agreements, hedge and power purchase agreements, build-transfer agreements, O&M and energy management agreements, project leases, interconnection agreements, and others

  • Day-to-day external stakeholder relationship management, including financing counterparties, offtake partners, governmental authorities, regulatory agencies, landowners, and others

  • Prepare annual budgets and related analyses, track and explain variances to the budget, and create recurring reports on project performance for financing counterparties

  • Manage and resolve regulatory, contractual, commercial, and legal issues as they arise

  • Collaborate with groups across the organization, including Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Commercial Execution to achieve project goals

  • Support the development of new clean energy projects through contract reviews, financial model assumption refinement, and answering due diligence questions for financing

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or other quantitative discipline

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Effective communicator and collaborator

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and experience with standard financial metrics and analyses (NPV, IRR, DCF models)

  • Ability to travel for work (less than 10%) is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An MBA

  • Experience in the energy industry in an asset management or operations role
