Whole Foods Market Full Time Cake Decorator in Chicago, Illinois
Job DescriptionAs a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for creating appealing designs on our specialty bakery goods and with general preparation of baked goods within the Bakehouse.Responsibilities
Decorating and finishing of cakes and all pastry products.
Organize, stock, and rotate of daily received walk-in products.
Maintain, organized and clean walk-in.
Proper labeling and dating of all products.
Preparation of any non-prepared tart dough and some mixes.
Comply with all applicable Health and Safety Codes.
Consistently communicate, uphold and embody Whole Foods Market's standards, vision and Philosophy.
Maintain and continually clean and keep department organized.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to perform physical requirements and maintain a high level of productivity
Will taste and evaluate all products offered in department
Ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to understand and effectively communicate Quality Goals to customers
Ability to learn proper use of bailer
Ability to learn and perform proper and safe usage of all Bakery equipment
Excellent verbal and written communicator
Understand the importance of all waste, spoilage and transfers to department
Ability to work well with others, self-motivated and capable of working independently with little supervision. Able to work a flexible schedule based on need including nights, weekends and holidays as required
Desired Work Experiences
Cake decorating experience (1 year)
Must be at least 18 years of age
