Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
As a Hydrogen Engineer, you will act as an in-house subject matter specialist and provide consultation and guidance on matters relating to hydrogen specific projects and opportunities.
You will support and drive business development in the hydrogen technologies sector.
You will develop and implement integrated engineering designs concepts and approaches to engineering problems, and present findings and recommendations to clients and peers.
You will utilize your technical expertise in the hydrogen field and act as the Mechanical team lead in the coordination of conceptual and detailed design phases for all aspects of mechanical engineering work and be responsible for leading the Mechanical Engineering design efforts for a team of junior and senior engineers and designers.
Prepare and review engineering studies.
Prepare and review technical specifications for procurement of mechanical engineering equipment.
Prepare and review engineering calculations and design drawing deliverables to support engineering designs.
Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including studies, reports, calculations and drawing preparation.
Coordinate and provide guidance to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely design.
Develop and grow current and new client relationships.
Develop your career via peer-learning through sharing of knowledge with other experienced engineers by way of S&L’s systems of process and associated “Communities of Practice.”
Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced engineers.

Essential Skills and Experience:
BSME from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program is required; MSME preferred.
Eight or more years of experience involving hydrogens systems and components for non-commercial, heavy industrial plants.
Ability to take a lead role in the completion of preliminary engineering studies that evaluate multiple solutions to address a given client’s problem or need.
Experience working on proposal development.
Experience with major hydrogen technologies, including electrolysis equipment and systems, compression and storage systems, and pipeline transport systems.
Experience with Steam Methane Reforming and Autothermal Reforming.
Able to create design schematics, such as flow diagrams and P&IDs, using computer design software.
Sound technical judgement, technical writing skills, and verbal communication skills.
Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support role to project managers and directors.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
PE license strongly preferred.
Construction, start-up and commissioning experience a plus.
