Job Description:

The Deskside Services Administrator performs both first and second tier support for the organization’s internal end users, supporting Windows OS (workstation and server), Mobile Devices, and general corporate provided technology solutions such as Instant Messaging and Mail Accounts. Hands on and remote support responsibilities include computer applications and platforms for our growing domestic and international teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage the process of imaging, deploying, supporting new desktop and laptop systems

  • Document work processes

  • Provide hardware/OS/application installation, maintenance and support

  • Participate in the management of the deployment environment

  • Participate in support queues to resolve issues

  • Assist with equipment moves for users and sites

  • Support for mobile devices

  • Assist in the creation/deactivation and ongoing management of Active Directory objects

  • Participate in oncall support rotation

  • Participate in assessment of new technologies and their integration into a production/support environment

  • Performs other tasks, as assigned by the Director of Corporate IT, as well as working with other departments as needed.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • A+ Certification or 1-2 years extensive PC hardware experience (laptop maintenance/repair a plus)

  • Network+ Certification or 1-2 years of X86 server hardware experience

  • 1-2 years of Microsoft Active Directory Administration

  • MTA or MCSA in supported Windows workstation and server solutions

  • 2 - 4 years of Desktop Support (OS/Application), preferably in a mid to large sized environment

  • Strong experience providing user support for current MS Office Applications/Solutions

  • Strong experience documenting build standards, and generating user facing documentation and HOW TOs

  • Basic understanding of IP networking

  • Experience with a 24x7x365 Environment a plus

  • Experience with Storage/Retention environments a plus

Physical, Mental and Sensory Requirements

  • Duties are primarily performed in an office environment or data processing environment

  • Physical requirements include:

  • Written and verbal communication

  • Ability to type and use a computer

  • Ability to communicate over the phone

  • Ability to bend, kneel and get to equipment that may be located beneath a desk or on the floor

  • Ability to climb a ladder to access equipment that may be located in a ceiling or high on shelving

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs
