This job was posted by : For more information, please see: Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the Data Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting the agency's Salesforce and other programmatic data systems, applications, and other data-related needs. The Data Systems Administrator will also support existing and develop new databases and applications; provide data support and assistance to agency users; work with managers and staff members across programs and departments in identifying data-related operational needs; and help to promote, implement, and support a sustainable data-informed work culture and operations.This incumbent will be expected to promote and adhere to the workplace core capabilities of: accountability, customer focus, continuous quality improvement, communication, competent people and clear priorities. All work to be completed with minimum supervision and in accordance with organizational standards.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in the administration and support of the agency's Salesforce system and related products and apps, including but not limited to:Providing end user support related to the use of Salesforce and the data captured and contained within it;Managing updates and changes to Salesforce, including system configuration;Managing the process of importing data from external sources into Salesforce;Managing Salesforce apps as well as the implementation of future applications;Enforcing data quality and integrity protocols and guidelines;Developing reports and data extracts;Maintaining Salesforce system security and integrity;Assisting in future expansion and development of the Salesforce platform and functionality; and,Assisting with end user training and education.Assists in the maintenance, support, and development of new and existing software applications, databases, and information systems across the agency, including Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and custom-built products. Provides technical assistance, support, and guidance related to existing and future applications and databases throughout the agency.Manages application and database development projects through to successful completion as directed. Gathers and translates business requirements from programs and departments into technical specifications and deliverables.Develops related project, functional, and technical documentation, including but not limited to the development of project plans; requirements, design, and specification documentation; test plans, scripts, and documentation; training materials; etc.Assists and works on projects and activities focused on developing, supporting, and sustaining an ongoing data-informed and data-driven work culture and operations across all departments and programs, and participates in related data management efforts.Provides data analysis and related technical assistance services to agency staff members as required, and works with agency staff members in proactively identifying and maximizing opportunities to use information and data to improve outcomes and processes.Promotes Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) by proactively identifying and helping to identify and implement improvements and best practices related to the agency's use of applications, databases, and systems.Uses agency tools for organizing and managing work, including but not limited to the Zendesk Help Desk system to track and manage requests for assistance, tasks, and related items and Smartsheet for project and non-support task management.Collaborates with other Information Technology team members in promoting an effective work environment and culture, and assists Information Technology team in providing technology support and assistance to staff members, as needed.Performs all other assigned, rela ted duties as required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:At least one year of Salesforce system administration experience is required; 2 - 4 years of experience is highly desirable.At least one year of supporting and developing non-Salesforce programs, applications, and systems is highly desirable.Bachelor's degree and at least 1 - 3 years' experience in application and database development and support, or the equivalent.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Technical certifications desirable.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Experience with Salesforce and Salesforce administration is required.Experience working with databases, SQL, querying databases, developing reports, etc. is required. Experience with Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server is desirable. Experience working with programmatic and/or research data, particularly within a non-profit or human services environment, is highly desirable.Experience with programming and in designing, developing, and maintaining Web and desktop applications is highly desirable.Strong project management skills are desirable.Experience gathering and documenting user requirements is desirable. Experience in developing technical documentation is highly desirable.Experience in data management, including ETL, data quality, etc., is desirable.Experience with data analysis, data analytics, and data science is desirable.Location: Uptown, Chicago, IL
