Collections Specialist (Remote)

job summary:

We have recently partnered with a fantastic company in the wholesale sector industry who is looking for a Collections Specialist to join their team! You will be responsible for working with branches, credit, accounts receivable, IT and accounting teams to best serve customers. This position will be 100% remote.

responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

  • Execute collection strategies utilizing GetPaid business software application

  • Conduct collection activities via phone, email, fax and other correspondence

  • Monitor customer collection activity and make recommendations on changes to customer collection strategy as appropriate

  • Negotiate and communicate payment plans with Manager when appropriate

  • Recommend suspension of delinquent accounts when appropriate

  • Communicate collection trends and business updates to the Manager

  • Ensure credit risk protection measures (i.e., joint checks, lien notices, bond claims, etc.) are in place based on terms of sale for customers

  • Monitor and execute lien rights based on terms of sale

  • Build effective relationships with customers

  • Collaborate with peers in order to minimize the company's bad debt and collect past due balances

  • Complete various monthly reports including monthly aging and suspension reports

qualifications:

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant work experience in Collections

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Business or related field preferred but not required if you have the years of experience

  • Strong MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables & V Lookups)

  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills

  • Ability to travel - 10-20% of the year

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to communicate ideas and recommendations in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
