Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our Ashland LLC business at our Calumet City, IL location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Operations function. This position will report to Operations Manager

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

+ Works closely with the Operations Manager, Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Process Engineers to establish and achieve specified goals and objectives of day to day operations of plant production

+ Assist in writing and reviewing JSA, SOP, and work instructions

+ Train operators on different tasks associated with area jobs

+ Support on-call rotation covering weekends and nights

+ Works with Production and Maintenance in scheduling and work execution

+ Will be trained as high hazard coordinator and expected to write work permits and perform LOTO, line break, et. al.?

+ Troubleshooting equipment and implements new methods and materials to reduce failure frequency

+ Recognizes the successful efforts of employees to increase productivity, reduce costs, and continuous improve work processes

+ Participates in EHS initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs

+ Maintains high safety standards by observation and conducting safety meetings

+ Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the department and the plant

+ Maintain plant housekeeping in a ?tour ready? condition at all times

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

+ A minimum of a High School diploma.

+ 5 years of chemical plant operating experience, particularly in a shift environment.

+ High Hazard Coordinator qualified or ability to receive qualification.

+ Ability to perform physical outdoor work in a variety of ambient conditions, including climbing ladders?and lifting up to 55 pounds.

+ Strong oral and communication skills.

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to effectively interact and communicate with all departments and levels of the organization

+ Proactive, self-motivated and demonstrate ability to handle multiple projects, changing priorities and frequently heavy workloads which may require work in addition to normal working hours

+ Think clearly and solve multifaceted problems in the field with personnel of various degrees of skill levels, education and training

+ Experience in a PSM covered process

+ MS Excel, Word and SAP knowledge
